Class-053 Section-014 The only person that I can identify is the Instructor, Chief Gebhart and I. This is very timely since we are putting together a pictorial review of my life at sea which begun in 1938 while serving in the Merchant Marines and ended in 1963 when I retired from the Navy. My wife has been retouching old photos for this book and it is time consuming but worth the work. At 85 years of age, I have kind of slowed down and I doubt we will finish this project before I go on to the next world. When you see the picture there is no doubt that you will have some questions to ask since I was much older than the others shown in the photo, plus I was an EN1 with a couple of hash marks (I had broken service). I retired as an ETCSS. Incidentally, I was an instructor in the Basic Submarine Enlisted Course and after changing my rate, I returned as an instructor for the Officers Electronic Materiel Course. I am also a graduate of the Nuclear power School and qualified Reactor Operator. Good luck in this endeavor John Di Filippo, ETC(SS) USN Retired |
