I am 14 from the left (the two striper). The 15th from the left was an EM named Johnson from New York. We both went to the Balao.  Ron Craven

Hi, Gary!
My name is Michael S. Hein, RMCS(SS), USN(RET), and I graduated from SUBSCOL in Class 134, Sec. 408, on 31 Aug '56, with Craven.

I am to the left of TM1(SS) Shelton, back row last on the right, four (4) people (RMSA) 'thou I didn't have my sparks on that uniform. Next to me to the left is Uedell Pinkston Jamison, and to the left of him is "Zeke", we all came from San Diego, for this class. (You have to picture this as you're looking at the photo).

Shelton came to class one morning in his skivvies, dolphins & WWII war patrol pin on. He was in the "Uniform of the Day"! Head instructor didn't like that worth a shit.  Bo Pinner, YN1 is kneeling in the front row, one and a half to the right of the class sign,  He went to SKIPJACK for new construction, I went to CSS10 FFT to ANGLER, thence TAD to CAVALLA, CROAKER, DIABLO, and new construction to GROWLER, a stint in ETHIOPIA, CNO at the Pentagon, JACK new construction, and QUEENFISH  in Pearl as COB, and finally as Command Chief and XO, at USN & MCRTC, St. Louis, Mo., and retiring in Nov. 73. Hope this helps a little.
