Class-147, Section-216, September 11, 1957 My name is Bill James RM2SS and I was on the USS Threadfin SS410 from Oct. 1957 to Aug. 1960. I am sending you my sub school graduation picture. I was in Class 147, Section 216 and graduated on Sept. 11th, 1957. If I have a copy of my classmates’ names, I sure as hell can't find it. Onboard the Threadfin with me was a man by the name of Gary D. Cooper who later served on the Atule. I wonder if you two served onboard the Atule together. He also was a radioman. By the way, I am that handsome young sailor in the top row (standing) second from the left, showing off my Seaman stripes. The swabbie to my left is a nut named Mike Klein from New York City. I hope some of my classmates will see this picture and maybe help me to remember some of the others. Thank you, Bill James |

| Gary, I noticed the name of the guy that donated our class picture is Bill James. Even though he identified me as Joe Kelly - his memory is as bad as mine. I'm the guy next to him -to the left - but my name is Mike Klein, and yes I was from New York. Pretty sure I remember Bill was from Philly. He went to the Threadfin and I went to Tirante, both wound up in Key West. If you have his e-mail or home address, I would appreciate it. Thanks, regards, Mike Klein, RMCS(SS) USN RET |
